The Washington Department of Veterans Affairs the Washington State Veterans Cemetery and the Missing in America Project is extremely pleased to announce that 56 veterans and 2 spouses have been located and will be interred with full military honors at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 West Espanola Rd, Medical Lake, Washington on 12 Sept 2011 at 11 am sharp.

These veterans were recovered in part by assistance from the Patriot Guard Riders, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, American Legion Riders and VFW Post 466.  These heroes came from funeral homes, coroners and medical examiner's offices and represent all five branches of the military.

The staff of the Veterans Cemetery put a tremendous amount of time and effort into verifying these veterans and organizing this ceremony which will be the largest of its kind to date nationwide.

One of the veterans located was a woman who served in the US Marine Corps during World War II and was of Native American descent.

During the ceremony, all five branches of the military will simultaneously fold flags and present them to the cemetery to be flown on scheduled honors holidays to represent those not yet recovered from each branch of service.  A flyover, Echo Taps and a Bagpiper will also be part of this full honors ceremony.

On site golf cart transportation will be available.

Guest speakers for the ceremony are Col Guemmer, Wing Commander Fairchild Air Force Base.
Doug Smith, Dignity Memorial Representative.
