Military Diversity
Military diversity in the military is the status quo, as the U.S. Military is the largest diversity employer in the nation. The Armed Forces are as diverse as the U.S. population. Drawing from all regions of all states, the U.S. Military Armed Forces train, educate and employ men and women from all walks of life. Military Diversity is a priority. As a matter of fact, the U.S. Military Armed Forces have a long history of successfully integrating into the military minority groups that faced considerable prejudice in the civilian sector. While military diversity is more commonplace in the rank and file, the government has been taking steps to increase military diversity at the top ranks of the military. To that end, the Military Leadership Diversity Commission was created as part of the 2009 National Defense Authorization Act.
