May is National Military Appreciation Month, a time when we can publically demonstrate our appreciation for the service and sacrifices made by those who defend our country, past and present. May, more than any other month, has a number of days set aside in celebration and remembrance of our military, including VE Day (8th), Military Spouse Appreciation Day (8th), Armed Forces Day (16th), and of course, Memorial Day (25th). We proudly recognize our country's military history and honor the commitment and sacrifices made by our armed forces, Veterans, and the incredible families who serve alongside them. We encourage you to perform at least one random act of kindness for a military member or Veteran this month.

A Shared Mission

The Campaign to Change Direction is a national initiative to create a new story in America about mental health, mental illness and wellness. As part of the collective effort led by Give an Hour, MilitaryConnection.com is proud to join 50 other partners in this effort. Change Direction is a response to the way society addresses mental health. With one in five Americans living with a diagnosable mental health condition, it is expected that more Americans will die this year due to suicide than in car accidents. Individuals, organizations and good corporate citizens are invited to help change the direction of mental health in our country by visiting www.changedirection.org.
