Recently, I had the honor of being a guest of the U.S. Navy aboard the USS John C. Stennis through the Navy’s Distinguished Visitor program. This was a once in a lifetime, amazing experience. I had an upfront and personal view of flight operations, providing me with a better understanding of the extraordinary leadership, work and commitment it takes to run an aircraft carrier with a crew of over 5,000. What impressed me the most is the caliber and dedication of the young men and women who serve. They strive to be the very best, and train constantly to improve. I look forward to sharing some of what I learned through an upcoming series of articles. The most important thing I came away with is the knowledge that we are in the very best hands. America’s Navy absolutely is a global force for good.

Questions, Questions...

Your GI Bill Benefits

The Post 9/11 GI Bill affords many great benefits, including tuition, a housing allowance, and a book/supplies stipend. But how do you choose a school that will best meet your needs? What is the best way to use your benefit? How do you connect with other Veterans and become part of that community? Military Connection Staff Writer Joe Silva shares his experiences as a Veteran student who has navigated these waters, having achieved his Bachelor's degree, and steaming full speed ahead (Navy puns intentional, Joe!) towards his Master's. We invite you to read his articles to find answers to your questions.
