Tell a Friend

I am proud to be a part of the America Salutes You team as we put the finishing touches on the November 12th concert at the Rosemont Theater in Chicago, IL. This nationally televised event will benefit and honor those who serve, past and present, and their loved ones. The concert will raise awareness and funds for some of the extraordinary non-profits that assist our military and veterans. Scheduled performers include Cyndi Lauper, Wanda Jackson, Hoodie Allen, CeCe Winans, Ricky Skaggs, Anthony Kearns, Tegan Marie, and many others.  Tickets go on sale on October 25th. Tax Credits for Hiring Heroes

Hiring Heroes

Extended Through End of 2019

Now there’s another great reason to hire veterans! The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a Federal tax credit available to employers who hire and retain veterans (and individuals from other target groups) with significant barriers to employment. Individual hires can save employers between $4,800 and $9,000. Employers claim about $1 billion in tax credits each year under the WOTC program. There is no limit on the number of individuals an employer can hire to qualify to claim the tax credit, and there are a few simple steps to follow to apply for WOTC. If you would like more information, please contact us.

Here Come the Robots

Robots

A New Clean-up Crew

The Phoenix VA Health Care System is the first hospital in Arizona to deploy Xenex Germ-Zapping Robots to destroy deadly germs and bacteria lurking on hospital surfaces that can cause hospital acquired infections. The portable room disinfection system utilizes pulsed xenon UV light and is effective against even the most dangerous superbugs. The room, bed and equipment are first disinfected by hospital Environmental Management Service staff. Once the room is visually clean, the robot comes in and destroys anything left behind -- it kills all the dangerous bacteria the naked eye cannot see. The future is here!

Voting 101 for Military Members

FVAP

Make Sure Your Vote is Counted

The upcoming election on November 8th may be one of the most important elections in recent years. If you are a new voter, have recently moved, or are deployed overseas, there are steps you can take to make sure your vote is counted. Many states have residency requirements, and if you sign up for an absentee ballot, most states will only accept them by mail. That means that overseas voters must get their ballots in the mail weeks before an election. We have covered some of the basic in a blog article that you can read here.
