Honoring Bryan Anderson

Honoring Bryan Anderson

On February 20, 2016, Rebuilding America's Warriors (RAW) is hosting A Night of Honor, acknowledging injured U.S. combat vets who courageously served in Iraq and Afghanistan. The event at the Hyatt Regency, Indian Wells, CA,  will feature Army Veteran Bryan Anderson, a triple amputee injured in Iraq in 2007. Bryan, the author of “No Turning Back”, is an inspiration to everyone he meets. He serves as an Ambassador for the Gary Sinise Foundation and speaks to veterans around the country via USA Cares. A 2015 Special Edition Trail Rated Willy's Jeep, custom-wrapped in a military theme depicting Army, Marines, Air Force, and Navy, will be auctioned at the event. Pre-event bids may be submitted by calling 760-568-4039. Injured vets that RAW has helped through free reconstructive services will be flown in from around the country for this special event, and you have the opportunity to sponsor a vet at your table. Entertainment will be provided by the Gatlin Brothers.

Reducing PTSD Symptoms

Operation Warrior Wellness

A new study reports that regular practice of Transcendental Meditation (TM) enables some active duty service members battling post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to reduce, or even eliminate, their use of psychotropic medications and better control the often-debilitating symptoms of PTSD. The study “Clinical Case Series: Treatment of PTSD With Transcendental Meditation in Active Duty Military Personnel ” was published in the journal Military Medicine. Operation Warrior Wellness (OWW), a division of the David Lynch Foundation, offers the Transcendental Meditation-based Resilient Warrior Program, a simple, easy-to-learn, evidence-based approach to relieving symptoms of PTSD and major depression and developing greater resilience to stress. Saving For Retirement

Protecting Guard & Reserve Component Servicemembers

We hope you will join us in supporting HR 4381- Servicemember Retirement Improvement Act. This bill would stop the IRS from stifling Guard or Reserve service members' ability to save for their retirement.  This bill would give Reserve Component servicemembers the opportunity to fully participate in the military 401K part of the new blended retirement without compromising both their civilian and military retirement plans. It is important to remember the Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission, which proposed a blended retirement entitlement, did not intend for Guard and Reserve members to lose benefits. The bill will encourage Guard and Reserve members to contribute to their military 401K plan and prevent a negative impact to recruiting and retention. To contact your representative and urge their support, click here

Las Vegas Thriller

THE PERMIT is a fast-moving techno-thriller based on the real-world murder of the author's eldest son, a 1994 West Point graduate. When three Las Vegas police officers gun down a covert federal agent, they become high-priority targets of Checkmate, a team of "black ops" assassins charged with neutralizing domestic terrorist cells via high-tech weapons that instill fear, doubt and division. The U.S. president gives the team a stunning off-the-books mission, but very little time to complete it. If Checkmate fails, America will erupt in armed revolt....and may not survive. THE PERMIT is available on Amazon and iTunes and select book retailers.
