An Evening at the Reagan Library

A Wounded Warrior now Walks Tall

Mark your calendar to attend “A Conversation with Gary Linfoot” at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. On March 2nd, this highly decorated soldier will share his inspiring story of survival and recovery. In 2008, during Linfoot’s 19th combat tour in Iraq with the U.S. Army’s elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) his helicopter had a mechanical failure and crashed, leaving him a paraplegic. But thanks to a full-body apparatus developed by California-based Ekso Bionics, Linfoot can now walk. He is the first veteran to receive the Ekso suit for personal use. In fact, on June 25, 2015 he stood on his own for the first time since his accident – and that was to stand for the National Anthem at Bristol Dragway in Tennessee. In November of 2016, Linfoot walked his daughter down the aisle. The event is free, but seats must be reserved in advance. To reserve your tickets, click here.

Military OneSource is provided by the Department of Defense at no cost to active duty, Guard, and Reserve service members (regardless of activation status), and their families. It is a virtual extension of installation services.

A forensic anthropologist sets out to prove that the Shroud of Turin is a fake, but quickly discovers the opposite—and must race to stop the evil forces who want to use traces of blood in the fabric to clone Jesus Christ and bring on the second coming of their own design. That’s the premise of The Shroud Conspiracy, a new book by our friend John Heubusch, who also happens to be the executive director of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum. Join John and emcee Gary Sinise for a lecture and book signing at the library on March 14, 2017. The event is free, and the book may be pre-purchased during the reservation process here.

Operation Warrior Wellness

Operation Warrior Wellness

Healing the Hidden Wounds of War

Over half a million U.S. troops deployed since 2001 suffer from PTSD. Yet less than 20% will receive adequate care due to lack of effective treatments, fear of stigma or insufficient government resources. Half of those with PTSD won't receive any care at all. Left untreated, PTSD cripples functioning and places veterans at great risk for violent and self-destructive behavior. Operation Warrior Wellness (OWW), a division of the David Lynch Foundation, offers the Transcendental Meditation-based Resilient Warrior Program, a simple, easy-to-learn, evidence-based approach to relieving symptoms of PTSD and major depression and developing greater resilience to stress.
